Insurance Policy

Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service.

Towson Family and Cosmetic Dentistry is in-network/a preferred provider for Aetna PPO, CareFirst Traditional & PPO, Cigna PPO, Delta Dental Premier, Guardian PPO, MetLife, Principal PPO, United Concordia Fee for Service, and United Healthcare.

As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services and allow them 45 days to render payment. After 60 days, you are responsible for the entire balance, paid-in-full. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.

Dental Insurance

Your insurance plan is a contract between your employer and a dental insurance company. Benefits received are based on the terms of the contract negotiated between your employer and dental insurance company, and not your dental office.

The goal on most dental insurance policies is to provide only basic care for specific dental services. The benefits that you receive from the dental insurance company for your current insurance plans have nothing to do with your needs or achieving a high-quality, complete result.

Your benefits are decided between your employer and the insurance company. Many needed services may not be covered. Our office will do everything possible to help you understand and make the most of your dental insurance benefits.. As a courtesy, our office will complete and submit your insurance forms to achieve the maximum reimbursement to which you are entitled. Please remember that you are ultimately responsible for all expenses incurred. We urge you to read the policy so that you are fully aware of coverage and any limitation of the benefits provided.

Based on the information that you give us, as well as information from the insurance plans database program, we are able to provide you with benefit estimates. When benefits are known, we ask that you only pay your estimated deductible and co-payment at the time of your visit. If benefits are on a fixed schedule and are unknown, then we will estimate your co-payment. When we are able to verify insurance coverage, then we will ask you to pay for your treatment in full at the time of service. Occasionally an insurance company pays less than anticipated. Should this happen, you are responsible for payment of your account balance. We will be happy to assist you in resolving a dispute with your insurance company. However, our relationship is with you and not the insurer. We are not responsible for their actions.

We reserve the right to decline assignment of benefit from a carrier, should they have a history of difficulty. In those cases, we will submit claims for you to be reimbursed directly.
